Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) established through Act of Parliament envisaged to emerge as a world class institution of national importance through promoting innovation and interdisciplinary integration in the domain of science and engineering. The AcSIR would impart course instructions and award degrees in frontier area of science and technology. Taking advantage of CSIR's state the art infrastructure and unique human resource, the AcSIR would work towards bridging the gap that exists today between academics and applications.

The mission of the Academy is to create highest quality personnel with cross- disciplinary knowledge, aiming to provide leaders in the field of science and technology.

1. Nurture a research-propelled, technology-enabled, industry-linked, socially conscious higher education platform

2. Achieve a seamless integration of intellectual strengths with current market needs with a people centric focus.

3. Develop niche capability required to bolster research efforts in futuristic science.

4. Provide the opportunity to work on the frontier and contemporaneously challenging areas for nurturing innovation

1. Admissions for Ph. D. Programme in AcSIR (twice in a year January and August sessions)

2. Conducting course work, examinations and Doctoral Advisory Committee meetings

3. Ph. D. Thesis submission and Viva-Voce Examination
